Synopsis:
Breaker, breaker! The Bandit (Burt Reynolds), legendary trucker-hero of the South, is putting the pedal to the metal, outwitting and out-driving the law all the way from Texarkana to Atlanta! At the wheel of his high-powered Pontiac Trans-Am, and with a daffy runaway bride (Sally Field) at his side, the Bandit is running interference for his good buddy, the Snowman (Jerry Reed), a trucker whose 18-wheeler is loaded with bootleg beer. The only thing standing between them and their destination is "Smokey"-Sheriff Buford T. Justice (Jackie Gleason)-a hot-tempered redneck lawman who ain't gonna rest 'til the Bandit's in jail, even if it takes every last cop car in Dixie! Directed by stunt legend Hal Needham, Smokey and the Bandit is the free-wheelin,' tires-squealin,' gears-strippin,' cars-flippin' action classic of all time!
Original theatrical release 1977.
