Synopsis:
The perfectly-crafted story of an insurance agent (Fred MacMurray) and a greedy blonde (Barbara
Stanwyck) who connive to bump off her husband and collect the premiums. Leaving behind the standard New
York setting of lower-class crime, the intrigue takes place in California, with its broad shady streets,
supermarkets and stucco houses...a fascinating setting to reveal the malignant underside of the couple's deadly
plot.
The superb screenplay, written by Billy Wilder and master of mystery, Raymond Chandler, creates an intriguing
blueprint for the perfect murder. A classic in the mystery genre. |
