The very first widescreen transfer of "Star Wars" on video at all came in the form of this Standard Play (CAV) "Special Collection" edition from Fox in Japan. Using the same print master as the previous editions (the same print flaws are present), the 2.39:1 image is shifted up on the screen to make room for the subtitles at the bottom. No supplements but how cool was it to have a widescreen version in standard play? Those Japanese got all the good stuff.

The artwork is the same on the back as all previous editions, and the front is essentially the same except reduced to produce a white border. Each disc is stored in it's own custom sleeve which lists the chapter stops for that disc.
