| This release is a companion release to The Phantom Menace issued in
Japan in April 2000. This box set represents the final release of any Star Wars material on
LaserDisc. The films contained in this box are the Special Editions of Episode IV, V and VI. The box is a deluxe slipcase with the individual films in its own jacket. The artwork for this release has been changed to remove any reference to the Special Edition as these versions represent the 'official' versions by LucasFilm. The now familiar episodic graphic begun with the video release of Episode I has been utilized on this release. The "Making Of" featurettes from the previous release in 1997 have been removed. Instead, we are given an 11 minute 'behind-the-scenes' look at the making of Episode II (later given the name Attack of the Clones), which precedes the feature of Episode IV. This version of Star Wars Trilogy was only available in this box set. No individual film versions were issued. |
