The battle to save the galaxy from the evil of Darth Vader and the Imperial forces continues in this
spellbinding STAR WARS sequel, one of the highest grossing films of all time. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Princes Leia (Carrie Fisher) and the Rebels have taken refuge from the Empire on the forbidding ice planet Hoth, but they're attacked by a vast Imperial army using AT-AT Walkers that threaten death and destruction, crushing all in their path as they relentlessly seek out the Rebels in a spectacular open battle scene. The Rebels abandon Hoth and the story zooms off through the galaxy as Han, Princess Leia and Chewbacca run for their lives in Han's Millennium Falcon, attempting to out-maneuver, out-fight and out-fly the hulking Imperial Star Destroyer. Meanwhile, Luke journeys to the bog planet Dagobah to seek Yoda, the ancient Jedi Master, who will teach him the secrets of the Force and turn him into a true Jedi Knight. Darth Vader launches his own campaign to lure Luke to the Dark Side of the Force, mold him in his own image or kill him. Their final showdown is a stunning lightsaber duel that packs a walloping surprise for Luke as he learns the secret of his destiny. This thrill-a-minute entry in the STAR WARS saga introduces two new members of the STAR WARS "family": Lando Calrissian, the shifty space adventurer played with roguish charm by Billy Dee Williams, and Yoda, one of the most delightful, ingenious and instantly successful characters ever to appear on a movie screen. Also on board for adventure and action are Chewie, the shaggy Wookiee with a heart as big as space itself, and the ever-present, ever-faithful droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO. From its beginning in the frozen wastelands of Hoth, to the steamy swamps of Dagobah and the Cloud City of Bespin, The Empire Strikes Back is a stunning array of special effects, stupendous action, humor and imagination, that speeds along at a blazing pace, full of surprises and bizarre creatures from the distant ends of the universe. Join Luke, Han, Princess Leia, Chewie, R2-D2, C-3PO, and Yoda for genuine movie magic at its best, "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...". | |
