Stardate Unknown
After being mortally wounded in a Lenarian attack, Picard (Patrick Stewart) meets the nefarious Q (John deLancie) in the afterlife. Q offers him the opportunity to relive his life and correct his past mistakes - the worst of which resulted in Picard receiving an artificial heart which ultimately lead to his demise. Picard agrees and resumes his life as a 21-year-old ensign, fresh out of the Academy. This time he's able to avoid the violent confrontation with the Nausicaan which resulted in the loss of his heart. Q congratulates Picard for changing his destiny and returns him to the Enterprise, alive and well. Only now he's junior grade Lieutenant...and that is a fate worse than death!

Stardate 46578.4
The Enterprise arrives at Deep Space Nine, where a mysterious alien, Jaglom Shrek (James Cromwell) claims he can prove that Worf's {Michael Dorn) father, Mogh, is still alive. Meanwhile, an accident in engineering incapacitates Data (Brent Spiner). After he is revived, he insists he saw his father, Dr. Noonian Soong, while unconscious. Dr. Bashir, (Siddig El Fadil), the station's physician, theorizes that Data may have had a dream. Intrigued, Data attempts to reenter his dream state in order to learn more about his creator, while Worf seeks out Shrek and embarks on a journey to the distant Romulan prison where his father is supposedly being held. What he finds there could be deadly... Part one of two.
