Later, Geordi (LeVar Burton) learns that some alien information was downloaded into the ship's computers during the scan. A phaser blast to the comet's outer shell reveals a nearly solid metallic object with strange icons which Data (Brent Spiner) inexplicably, can read. When one of the symbols appears on Data's forehead, he begins to exhibit signs of multiple personalities.
