Release History

The Wiz was issued in February 1993 by MCA/Universal Home Video in a 3 sided CLV Widescreen (1.85:1) edition (Catalog #: 41426). Universal also released the title on DVD in April 1999. This new edition uses the same flawed 1.85:1 aspect ratio of the LaserDisc, but does restore the soundtrack to the original 4-track magnetic recording. It is presented in 4.0 channel Dolby Digital.
