Pressing Notes

Some copies of this title are rumored to have been mastered in Mono. While I am not a fan of country music, I actually survived watching this without loosing my sanity. The audience for this concert was simply dead. Either that or they just don't think her jokes are funny. (They aren't really). The video transfer is actually outstanding. The audio is clean and clear, with decent stereo separation. It's a pity not all the DiscoVision programs are done as well as this one.

An interesting note here. Side 2 contains a clip of Coal Miners Daughter that is in full 1.85:1 widescreen. To this date, there isn't a letterboxed version of the film anywhere. Additionally, this clip of the film is far better in over-all quality than either of the two DiscoVision releases.

Release History

Loretta has never been re-issued on LaserDisc. A video tape version was releases several years ago, but it is severely edited down from this version.
